The Differences Between Sensuality and Sexuality. The Body as a Temple. The Male Gaze. Modesty. Sensuality + Hormones. God Created Sensuality. Unlearning Shame. & More.
I just wrote two articles about my personal troubles with the ideas of love among sin and how it serves as an example of Christian despair, and they both cover a certain emotional angle that I don't think are very well understood. Maybe they could serve as inspiration for another article of yours?
This is what “ interior preparation looks like ; exactly what you have written about . Men have a counter part like this but I would need your help in describing it. ( you’d have to interview me;)
“There is also His insistence on the need for interior preparation, without which one cannot participate in the wedding feast. In this parable ( of ten virgins) Jesus calls for readiness, vigilance, and fervent commitment in waiting for the Bridegroom. Only five of the ten virgins had worked to keep their lamps burning for the Bridegroom’s arrival. “ Excerpt from St. John Paul II audience .
Thankyou very much, it's been a lovely read & nearly at tears - I'd say i'm a man heavily orientated towards Mars with Venus being unfamiliar & unknown territory & reading this is bringing up the pain of that as well as the desire to deepen & soften into my feminine. Thankyo!
As a nature lover and connoisseur of its cosmic cycles, I completely agree with your article. I recently read another article by a woman who said that, in this context, capitalism is profoundly anti-feminine because it destroys everything women need for their sensuality and femininity to flourish. Do you agree?
I don't agree. I think that's a feminist point of view, rather a divine feminine one. Some expressions of capitalism—especially those driven by hyper-consumerism—can definitely be poison for women, making it hard for our true femininity and sensuality to naturally thrive, but this is not an inevitable outcome of capitalism itself. Capitalism can create opportunities for women to cultivate and express their femininity on their own terms: having financial independence (which can be compatible with a traditional life and marriage), the freedom to choose a lifestyle that nourishes you and supports your rest, relaxation and self-expression, etc. It's not capitalism vs femininity, but materialism vs the conditions femininity needs to flourish.
"Women placed wild flowers on their hair, danced under the moon, adorned their bodies with gold and silk, not for attention, but because it made them feel beautiful and connected to their femininity." Thank you a thousand times over for writing this! I'm currently planning my wedding, and a weird pressure has emerged in my parish for the bridal procession to be simple and quick. I've been fighting for more beauty and delicateness and adornment in the ritual, but I've been feeling guilty about that. I really owe you for showing me that it's perfectly holy and appropriate to want the little things at my wedding - be it soft songs I'm comfortable with, a flower crown, or a long procession to bask in my femininity!
I recently wrote an article about how the simple act of breathing induces a meditative state that reminds us that God is immersed in everything we are. I believe that as women, we have a direct and sacred portal to our bodies, through which we experience our own power and the fruits of God.
